Crews contain 2-alarm fire in Springvale

SPRINGVALE, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- An overnight fire heavily damaged a house on Blanchard Road in Springvale early Thursday morning.

All four people inside the home when the fire broke out were able to make it out safely. No injuries were reported.

The fire went to two-alarms at one point because of the remote location of the house. Several other departments responded to Sanford's call for mutual aid, bringing in tanker trucks to transport water to the area.

Firefighters remained on the scene early Thursday to do some overhaul work and clean up. A cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
