3rd Annual Lebanon Pride Day

3rd Annual Lebanon Pride Day

The Rescue Department is proud to announce our 3rd annual Lebanon Pride Day will be held Saturday April 20th from 8am until Noon, cleaning up the roads to make our community beautiful. We do this event each Earth Day weekend to help beautify our community.

Thanks to Lebanon Road Commissioner Larry Torno and his crews for offering to help pick up bags of debris picked up on the side of the road. Thank you also to the Lebanon Transfer Station for assisting!

For the past few years, dozens of families and groups picked up truck loads of trash and debris from the roadways.  Several dump trucks were filled each year with debris from the sides of the roads. The road crews donated their trucks and fuel to bring all the trash to the transfer station and the transfer station crews worked extra hard to handle all the trash being brought to the station in addition to the normal Saturday business.

Rescue crews train on ice water rescue, called out for report of snowmobile through the ice

Each year, the members of the Lebanon Rescue Department train in water and cold water rescue emergencies. The annual training is used to teach rescue techniques from the waters utilizing special rescue suits that are designed to keep the rescuer dry. Several of the rescue members have attended training to become certified operations and technician level water rescue technicians. The Lebanon Rescue Department held their annual Ice Water Rescue training on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Everett’s Cove Marina on New Bridge Road. Rescue members attended a 4 hour classroom portion at Lebanon Central Station before proceeding up to the Marina for the training. Once at the Marina, the crews spent nearly 7 hours training in the water on many different scenarios, ranging from rescuing injured patients in the water with spinal injuries to rescuing combative patients due to hypothermia.
