Rumor of violence prompts football postponement

WATERBORO, Maine - The Massabesic Mustangs at Sanford Spartans football game scheduled for Friday night in Sanford has been postponed until Saturday due to rumors of violence.

According to David Theoharides, Sanford School Superintendent, a "rumor" that a student was bringing a gun to the game was reported to the Massabesic High School Resource Police Officer. That report, according to Theoharides, prompted an investigation by the resource officer and the Massabesic administration. Theoharides said that while investigators found the rumor unsubstantiated, they did find a high level of trash talking on social media.

Massabesic High School, located in Waterboro, is one of the Sanford Spartans main rivals. Theoharides said that definitely contributed to this issue.

Police officers growing support for Sox and local food pantry

FARMINGTON, New Hampshire (NEWS CENTER) -- As October brings cooler weather to New England, things are just starting to heat up here in Red Sox Nation as our local nine are back in the hunt for another World Series trophy.

While the past couple of years have been difficult for die-hard fans, with the beer and chicken fueled collapse of 2011 and the Bobby Valentine fiasco that was last year fresh in fans' minds, this years' team is different.  Some would say luck has had a lot to do with it, luck derived from facial hair of all lengths and manner of upkeep, now 'Beard Nation' is growing outside of the friendly confines of Fenway Park bringing communities closer together while helping those in need.
