Kids Creating Great Movies that Make a Difference!

Discounts and possible scholarships for eligible young people are available for this exciting program.

Project AWARE, a local youth empowerment program, is hosting its fourth film institute in August.  Project AWARE and Gum Spirits Productions will support teens ages 13-18 in using high quality video as a medium for raising awareness about a youth social issue.
The beginners will make their own high quality public service commercial over the course of 5 days (Aug. 8-12). For advanced students, there will be 1 day of training and then during the next 4 days they will shoot a 30 minute movie with institute attendees as the crew (Aug. 15-21).
This is a great model of service learning where teens put their creativity and ideas into action together with Project AWARE and a premiere Maine filmmaker. GumSpirits is recognized for producing high quality video including feature length films.
